We are supporting the construction of a new school for a community in Malagiri, Nepal for children aged 3-8. Young children in this remote rural area are in urgent need of schooling and cannot manage the mountainous two hour walk to the local government school. The school will have major benefits to others in this remote community.

The school will also offer adults in the community lessons in literacy and numeracy so that they can get a fairer price at market for their crops. Further to this, we will work to promote local income generating projects to increase sustainability of the community and reduce migration of young people to the cities. Many children currently leave the village and eventually either end up on the streets of Kathmandu or are trafficked to work in dangerous, illegal and very low paid jobs outside of Nepal.
