On Friday 11th December, the festive celebrations began with Stepping Stones‘ Christmas concert at Sundial.
The evening started with an opening message from Melissa Farnham (head teacher) before George took over to lead the proceedings, excelling in his role of compere and keeping the audience well entertained throughout.
The first half showed strong group performances, which included; One More Step along the World, Blue Christmas, Merry Christmas Everyone and I wish it could be Christmas Every Day. Having recently received high praise following their performance at the Shakespeare School’s Festival, the children did not disappoint. The final piece was a group demonstration of an African dance, a great end to a super first half, also introducing the first solo of the night, from Aran.
Hosted by Larry at Sundial, guests were able to enjoy coffee, mulled wine and minced pies from the Cookie Bar bus during the interval before settling down for another exciting half.
Next came the rest of the soloists, with more talent on display from Stepping Stones students; Izzy, Rachael, Jade, Georgia and Lucy as well as Amy (alumni), who also performed ‘Jingle Bell Rock’ as a duet with Izzy in addition to her individual song.
Melissa gave the closing words to a lovely evening, but not before the whole school came together to sing favourites ‘Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer’ and ‘We Wish You a Merry Christmas.’
Huge congratulations to all the children for their performances and everyone involved, who put their time and effort into making it happen!
What a way to celebrate the festive season!
